Letchworth Park - Ice Volcano

This year's extremely long duration of cold weather has resulted in some fascinating ice sculptures.   One such phenomena is the ice volcano at Letchworth State Park.   This is normally a small fountain next to the Glen Iris Inn,   Fortunately I got home from vacation to see it before the warmer weather hit,   Last Saturday the diameter at the bottom of this ice volcano was 89 feet and the height was almost 60 feet.   Most of the pictures I took were zoom, close ups for texture,   In one you can see that water is spewing from the top of the fountain,

The lost is found!

Good news.....my quilt is found!   I am beyond happy and relieved and ready to be done thinking about  this with all the accompanying anxiety and sadness.   I have learned a lot and am now ready to get back to work!

My quilt never returned from Virginia

If you read my post below this one, you will see that I was excited my quilt had been juried into the Mancuso Mid-Atlantic quilt show in Hampton, Virginia for display and judgingl

Tonight I am heartsick as my quilt was not in the box that was returned to me.   All of the packing materials are in there - down to the fabric ties I use to secure a quilt rolled on a tube.,,,and wrapped in fabric and plastic.   It is like they forgot to put the quilt inside and just sent off the box by mistake.   I'm hoping that it somehow got misplaced or put in with someone else's quilt and they received two by mistake.

The box showed no evidence of being cut and retaped, nor does the box show any evidence of tearing or ripping from tape being removed.

This is a quilt made from a manipulated photo that I took in Florida and had printed onto fabric by Red Dpg Enterprises,   The quilt has a fused label and a sewn label.   Yes, it is insured....but as you might know..it is not about the money!
